Duelstype=duel
Head-to-head.
Same machine.
Duels is a format flag on the event. Set type=duel and resolve it like anything else.
Default: Automated settlement on certified VOD and certified live titles — settle at/above threshold; below = hold/refund, never guess. Interim: Uncertified live may use human confirm before settlement until auto-certified and listed on /status. API: live settle without reviewer_id only for auto-certified titles; uncertified live requires reviewer_id.

01type=duel on POST /v1/events. Not a separate API.
02Either path: VOD model or live human-confirm.
03Same states, same webhooks, same ledger.
Stake-blind
Verification does not know whether a stake was attached. Same event_id, same evidence, same settlement_id in every mode.
Trust & Settlement
Who holds the funds
Pulse: Brands fund pools; fans have zero stake.
Arena: Operators hold stakes; PLLAY verifies outcomes.
Settlement: PLLAY clears pools, never takes the wager.
When we settle
Certified titles (VOD + live): Autonomous, <60s.
Uncertified live: Human confirmation, 24–48h hold.
Disputes: 7-day reversal window.
Why this matters
Operators keep 100% of stake value—we never skim.
Brands control pool funding; fans play free or brand-funded.
Autonomous resolution on certified titles means no waiting.
