Building PLLAY's Real-Time Operations Center

When a contest launch flow drops from minutes to under ten seconds, the team operating the platform underneath it needs to move at the same speed. That's the problem the new real-time operations center solves — it's not a creator-facing feature, it's the instrumentation the team relies on to know what's happening across the platform as it happens.

The center is built around a live ticker — a running feed of pool launches, entries, and settlements as they occur — sitting alongside a row of key metrics, so anyone watching it gets both the pulse of the platform and the headline numbers in the same glance.

A fraud queue sits next to the ticker rather than in a separate tool, because fraud signals are time-sensitive in a way most admin work isn't — the value of catching a bad actor drops fast the longer a pool has been open. Putting it in the same view as live activity means the team doesn't have to context-switch to check it.

A revenue chart and a system health row round out the screen. Neither is complicated on its own, but having both in the same place as the fraud queue and the live ticker means one screen answers "is the platform healthy, is anyone gaming it, and how's the business doing" without three separate tools.

It's a small piece of infrastructure compared to the creator-facing launch flow it supports, but it's the piece that makes the fast flow trustworthy — speed only matters if the team can still see what's going on underneath it.
