PLLAY Sets Out to Turn Live Audiences Into Participants
PLLAY is building a platform where a creator's audience doesn't just watch a stream — they play alongside it, with skill-weighted predictions the first product PLLAY is building around.
Watching a stream is a spectator experience. PLLAY starts from a different premise: an audience that already knows the game should get to prove it. That's the starting point for what we're building — a way for a creator's audience to turn their read on what happens next into something that counts.
The first product we're building around that idea is skill-weighted predictions: a fan predicts what happens next in a stream, and their track record for being right affects their share when they call it correctly. Not a raffle, not a coin flip — an accuracy record that means something over time.
For creators, the goal is a feature, not a destination: something a creator can turn on mid-stream that gives their audience a reason to pay closer attention, without asking anyone to leave the stream they're already watching.
This is early. Right now we're building the mechanics — how a pool works, how skill-weighting gets calculated, how it settles fairly — before opening any of it to a real audience. There's no launch date to share yet, just a direction.
We'll be writing more about how we're building this over the months ahead, starting with why we think passive watching leaves something on the table.
"Chat lets you react. We want to give people a way to actually be right," said Shawn Gunn, Founder & CEO of PLLAY. "That's the whole company, in one sentence: turn watching into playing."
